While human kind thrives on technological advancement, it also dies in droves by the same. Heart shuttering statistics show that cars kill more people in Swaziland than we actually realize. We know that every now and then accidents happen on the roads; we hear of how a certain man of a certain area was knocked down and killed by a car over the weekend of that woman driving a sedan had a head on collision with a cow and died on the spot.
The truth is, in our minds it feels like two people died over the weekend due to road accidents but when you seat and tally up all these numbers the outcome brings back consciousness to the need for safe driving at ALL TIMES.
According to the latest WHO data published in May 2014 Road Traffic Accidents Deaths in Swaziland reached 206 or 1.52% of total deaths. The age adjusted Death Rate is 18.31 per 100,000 of population ranks Swaziland #79 in the world. These are obviously old statistics but they should be sobering enough to force you to (1) stop drinking and driving, (2) fasten your seatbelt when you drive (3) drive within required speed limits, (4) always obey road signs and (5) always respect other drivers on the road.
